We believe that what we leave out of our products is as important as what we put in. We are committed to developing safe, effective, natural products by avoiding chemicals and synthetic ingredients when possible, replacing them with beneficial, skin-compatible, naturally-derived ingredients. Our products are further enriched with plant extracts.
WE DO NOT USE
Mineral oil and its derivatives (paraffin and other petrochemicals) are the synthetic products of chemically processed petroleum. They can comprise up to 10% of a cosmetic product and are widely used because of their low cost, high stability, and ease of integration into any formula. In KORRES® Natural Products, they have been replaced by vegetable oils selected for their excellent quality and compatibility with the skin.
Propylene glycol is the standard extraction solvent for most plant extracts. It is synthetic and has been linked to a number of allergies. In KORRES® Natural Products, we have chosen to replace it with other solvents that are safe, compatible with and friendly to the skin.
Ethanolamines constitute a family of synthetic compounds often used in cosmetics to adjust the pH or the viscosity of a product. Although they are used only in small amounts in conventional formulas, they have been suspected of instability. At KORRES®, we are currently working to eliminate ethanolamines, replacing them with L-arginine, an amino acid naturally present in human metabolism. Besides being a pH regulator, L-arginine has substantial moisturising properties and excellent compatibility with both skin and hair.
