Lush krocus flowers bloom in the valleys of a small village in Kozani where farmers hand-pick the delicate purple flowers and separate the red saffron stigmas one-by-one in their homes. 150,000 flowers are needed to get just 1kg of potent Greek saffron, and within 24 hours of extraction, we mix this precious ingredient into an immunity-boosting skin elixir to protect against all signs of aging.

We work with local organic micro-farmers who cultivate responsibly and help us conserve the unique biodiversity of Greece.

For about 20 days each October, the farmers in Kozani hand-pick the krocus flowers one-by-one and carry them back to their homes. Then they patiently sort out by hand the yellow stamens from the red stigmas and flowers. After the harvest, the stigmas are dried out, a very demanding procedure which inquires great deal of skills, so that the stigmas do not lose their valuable properties, color and aroma. The blooms from this village are classified as the highest quality worldwide since 1998 due to the benefits they receive from the uniqueness of the drying process and local climate.

We run a zero-waste operation where we carefully extract active herbal ingredients and return any unused organic matter to the soil as fertilizer.

Our 1-day fresh saffron aqueous extract and saffron concentrated propanediol extract are produced at our own unit in Athens. This environmentally friendly, certified herb extraction unit was created in partnership with the Pharmacy School of the University of Athens and enables us to extract the highest quality ingredients for cosmetic use. We also use natural, biorenewable solvents instead of commonly used petroleum-based ones despite the additional cost, so that any wastes can be composted and used as biofertilizers.

Where the magic happens. We’re constantly studying plants at a cellular level in order to understand how they can work to transform our skin.
